What is Occam's Razor?

Occam's Razor, in short, is an exploration of works of esoterica. It uses the theory of Occam's Razor - The theory that the simplest option is always the best and therefore usually correct.

To do this, I have invented a character - based on william of occam, who uses his scalpel (or Razor) to extract phrases or words from esoteric books, and thus create an entirely new slant on these works, if not obliterate them completely. This takes Occam's Razor theory to the extreme.

The front page of phenotype.net is built on these rules. Words and phrases are stolen to create something else.

Occam's Razor is also influenced by recent definitions of Graphic Design. Graphic design has been defined as designing from assets already in place (Fonts, illustrations etc), and although I feel this to be wrong, it has influenced this project. The aim is not to write anything from scratch, but to 'cut' all text from books; this is reflected in the typography of the book (i.e. Each book will have its own typographic style which hopefully will service as an index).
