Project overview
Phenotype was asked to produce, design and conceive two art based projects for Siobhan Davvies, with the lovely folk from BulletClip.
The idea was to tackle the contemporary dances with the same playful briefs as given by the dancers themselves. The result are two wildly different interfaces than explain some of the dance elements to students.
Birdsong perfomed to and influenced by Birdsong this piece is about language - be it visual, verbal or musical. The piece is performed in a round stage and thus our interface uses the circle motif to radiate out with the elements, people and ideas that make up the final, central piece.
In Plain Clothes was a dance performed as two random elements: a speaker or musical performer; the dancers themselves. The idea was so that these two unrelated things, by being performed together, create synergy.
